Merry Christmas everyone. Went to church today, and I can safely say that it was the first time this year. Yawn, what else is new? Hehe.

Langkawi was swell. Four days wasn't enough actually. Another one more day would have made the trip... sweller. Spent one day at a remote island called Pulau Payah, which was quite a nice place actually. Of course, you can't take into consideration the boat ride there, which needed all of my concentration to avoid throwing up. Snorkling at Pulau Payah was a new experience, beginning with learning how to breath with my mouth instead of my nose. Not really easy, especially when your natural instinct when you can't breathe with your nose is to get out of the water, gasping for air. After a short delay, everything was in place, and a-snorkling we went! Loads of nice little fishes, and some big fishes too... not to mention sharks. And of course, the occasional peeking at the fine ladies too. Haha. The additional one day would have been spent on the beach jet skiing and doing those beach stuff. One whole day was spent following the old folks buying alcohol, and boosting the tourism industry in Langkawi. Managed to sneak an hour to go to Galeri Perdana, which is another gallery for Mahathir, on top of the one in KL. Was very grand, much grander than the national museum in KL even.

Exam results were... o-k. Except for one module, which I was actually prepared the most for, the rest were quite reasonable. Except for... THAT module. Goddamn... it just screwed everything up. But then, remember my last post? That means I have a relaxing semester coming up! Hooray! No stress!

Going back tomorrow to Singapore. Looking forward to fast internet connection. Not looking forward to FYP.

So I'm back in KL, after spending HOURS trying to fix my computer, which finally worked after the third attempt of installing Windows XP. Harddisk died after 1 year and 2 weeks. Life's a bitch.

But it's gonna get better, leaving to Langkawi tomorrow morning... at SEVEN in the morning. Which leaves me another 8 hours to pack and get some rest. But who cares about rest... I'm gonna sleep in the car all the way up. Yeah, car... no driving. I also don't know why we're not flying up instead. Especially with this AirAsia hype, why not fly?

Exam results are coming out soon. Sigh... it's make or break time now. If results suck, hooray! Don't have to study so hard next semester. But if, somehow, just somehow, it is fantastic, darn... I have to work real hard next semester. Gonna get my results via SMS from Oliver. Will be waiting anxiously for it...

The new One Utama sure is big, especially when you take into account One-Utama Two. What a corny name. But can't be as bad if they were to name it Two Utama. The Parkson in One Utama Two is called Parkson U. Something to do with Utama I guess. Many shops are still closed, going to be one mad house once all of them open.

Ok, time's up. Gotta log off. Can't be online for too long. Also getting bored... maybe I should go out and get a prata or something.

Woke up at 830AM this morning thanks to the goddamn Banglas outside my room drilling holes in the ground. It was 1 1/2 hours of pure noise. Could not sleep, could not do anything. I just wanted to get the hell out of my room but I was just too goddamn tired. Then, thank God, they stopped at 10. Managed to sneak another 1 1/2 hours of sleep before I woke up... ahhh....

Now it's 350PM, and they are at it again. Sigh. Luckily I'm leaving tomorrow.
Okay, I've done it... applied for MEng. But still have to wait for Dr TeoKL to finish filling up the RS referee form. Was talking to the person IC of RS, and she said 2:2 is almost nil chance of getting it. Oh well... we'll see. Jay Sern made a very interesting point.. if don't get RS, don't pay yourself. Why pay to do research for the university? Doh... might as well take MSc and learn stuff for my ownself.

Results will be out in May only. Meanwhile, I'll just keep my fingers crossed. And will try to see if any Profs will wanna take a 2:2 as a RS.

Once again I have neglected my blog. Mainly due to my concept plan, which is taking forever to complete. Not to mention Need For Speed: Underground. Actually I think I'm spending too much time on NFS. Should do my FYP instead...

Toe nail died again. It survived Final Year Soccer on Wednesday night. Just barely. But the next day during hockey training, it dropped dead with no chance of survival anymore. Oh well, another one bites the dust then. Just waiting for it to drop off. I actually hope it won't grow again, really. Like my left toe, the nail has stopped growing halfway, so I don't have any problems with it. Nonetheless, let's see how this one goes. I'll have a progress report on my toenail...

Speaking of the Final Year Soccer, Jin Sheng is one helluva goalkeeper. He even scares me as a Center Back. He just rushes out and punches the ball away, just inches away from my head. I dare not imagine what would happen if he punches my head. What a frightening thought. And the way he catches the soccer ball reminds me of Shaolin Soccer. Maybe that was where he got his tricks from.

Decided to apply for MEng. Will give a shot at the RS, but then highly unlikely that I will get it. And that is where the problem comes in: if I get MEng with RS, I'll definitely take it. But if I don't get RS, should I still take MEng or should I take MSc instead? For the uninformed, MEng is research-based, with only about 4 modules to read throughout the two years. MSc, on the other hand, is coursework-based, with 10 modules to read within one year. No research. Was talking to Dezhao to ask him for suggestions. He said that I should take MEng only if I plan to do research next time. If not, there won't be any added advantage of MEng. If I want to upgrade myself, then I should take MSc.

So here are the plans:

1. Just heck it and take MEng. MSc can wait, if I'm still interested next time.
2. No RS? Screw MEng. I'm off to MSc.
3. Time to earn my keep.

Any suggestions?

Loads of stuff happened since I last blogged. I'm getting lazy. Well, got a new system from Sim Lim on Saturday, Running on an AMD 2600 now. Decided try out AMD after years of loyalty to Intel. So, transferred my video card, harddisks, CD-ROMS all to the new system, and ta-daa, a new system is born. Going to have to lug my old computer back to KL the next time I go back, which will be the 17TH OF DECEMBER. After that, LOADS of problems came up, mainly due to conflicts between the onboard sound system and my Soundblaster Live!, which kept causing my computer to hang. After formating three times, I finally got it to work. Phew. I'm so over formating.

Been spending the past two days thinking of stuff to do for my Technopreneurship concept plan. So far, progress has been shite. I hate doing this crap. Why can't we engineers just concentrate on... engineering? Why do I have to do this crap? Dammit... I hope I settle this soon. I don't want to pay one semester fees just for this rubbish.

Chi Anh's been sneaking online to chat with me. Hehe. Makes me miss her. But she keeps going off very abruptly, saying "Shit. Gotta run". Then she disappears. Haha, must have been caught being online or something. Hahaha. Been talking about how Vietnam is winning gold medals like it was a hobby, *yawn*. Next please...

Okay Bloggie... I promise not to neglect you too much. But I gotta run. Back to CONCEPLT PLAN!

This morning decided to go to Fong Seng, which was the first time this semester. And what a memorable one it was. Was there with Heshan and Chi Anh, and were about to leave when we saw a cat walking over to our table. We watched the cat walked over, turned around, lifted its tail, and released a straight stream of pee.... right on my leg. I don't think I'll be going to Fong Seng for a while... and I also don't think I'll be liking cats for quite a while.

Went to the airport to send off Chi Anh this morning at 645AM. Cab ride was 20 bucks. There were a few Singapore Team stragglers still going to Hanoi on the same flight. Collapsed when I reached back in my room since I only managed to sneak in 2 hours of sleep before that.

Been bumming since then. Time for FYP.

::.. Monday, December 01, 2003 ..::

Hey hello blog. It's been a while yeh? Been real busy you know... especially preparing for the FYP presentation this morning. Actually didn't take that much time, but thanks to night cycling, it did.

Left RH at 1AM instead of 1215AM due to some administrative problem by OAC. Then while cycling up the hill past admin block, Jin Sheng's bike had some problem. Don't ask me why... Okay, problem fixed. Next cycle across AYE. Again, Jin Sheng's bike got spoilt. Once again, don't ask me why... but then when he switched bikes with Eric, it worked perfectly fine. Hmmmm.... I don't know what to say. So, we cycled off to ECP, and en route, we stopped by Newton Circus and Geylang to stuff ourselves silly. Along the way, some pretty interesting sights at Orchard with some "ah-nia's" on show, a convoy of about 15 Honda Civics drag racing along the straight road of Orchard Road, and more sights of Jin Sheng slowing us down. Apart from Jin Sheng, Oliver also made the trip interesting by leading the pack and suddenly braking, causing us tail-gating cyclists to create a heap. Nicole also had her share of the excitement by being involved in, at least, 3 collisions with pillars, poles, and bushes.

Once we reached ECP, we were all prepared to jump on to the truck to head back for hall. Only to find out that there is NO truck going back to hall, and we had to wait for the 8AM bus to take us back. And it was 530AM. So, we had McDonalds breakfast (first for me) and bummed in McDonalds. Reached back in hall at 830AM, bathed, slept at 9AM. Woke up at 4PM. Started presentation preparation, and was presenting this morning at 11AM.

What load of fun!
