!!GROSS WARNING!!

Ok, since you have read the warning above, I shall proceed. These days I always wake up with my nose blocked or sneezing. Today was no different, and I woke up by actually sneezing. Since I was technically sleeping when I sneezed, the mucus just flew out and landed on my bed. Gross! So, because of that, I woke up at 830AM, and the bed sheet is now in the washing machine. Hope it doesn't happen again tomorrow.

Watched The Butterfly Effect last night, which was quite good. Ashton really can act serious! I thought he was a dude...

::.. Tuesday, June 29, 2004 ..::

Studying for my basic theory of driving test on 2nd of July. Yup, beware Singapore. I am going to terrorize the roads!! Once I get a car of course...

Avril Lavigne's second album is really good! Much better than her first one. Not as angry as the first album too.

*DELETED*

After a lot of talk about it, they just ended with "Okay lah, you decide lah. Up to you." I hate it when they say that. It leaves me feeling guilty because I know that they have a point too. They're playing the "guilt factor" again. But they did that trick with my Europe trip, and the trip was swell! Let's hope I come out right this time again...
Went to school today to collect my graduation gown. The queue was a really long, but nothing compared to Singapore Idol according to Oli. My gown size is M, which is weird because Saad's gown size is L. No way, how can that be? But M fitted me fine. I don't know about his. He should be swimming in L. Dazehead mentioned that his gown was L and the hat was XL. Well, Long's gown was L, and the hat was XXL. How's that for bighead? Hehe. Got the graduand attendance card as well to bring on that day. And screaming at me on the card is "2nd class honours (lower)". Same thing with the status letter which I got, one big "2nd class honours (lower)" staring at me. They sure like to announce it.

Read Rohana's blog about people asking you to fill up a survey form outside MPSH. So I was quite prepared for it and all ready to say no when I saw them from afar. But, when I got closer, I was that the girl was a BABE! When she asked Oli and I to fill up the form, how could I say no? The only people who can say no to her are straight girls and gays. Saw a few babes in MPSH too. Boy have I been deprived. Yew Tee only offers us moms, old women, maids and small kids. Sigh.

How on earth did I send out 580 SMS's in a month!! And I overshot my call time by 20 bucks! Wow... this is the first time this has happened. I better keep a check on my clicking fingers in future.

::.. Sunday, June 27, 2004 ..::

*DELETED*

Going to call up tomorrow. Hope the lady will be in a good mood...
Back in Singapore. And back to Yew Tee food court again.

Saw someone bet S$2000 for Holland in tonight's match against Sweden. Wonder how he will fare. His odds were 2:1. Quite good odds.

Also, Ryan and Cat are an item already! Haha! Woohoo!

My monitor is so big compared to my 14" CRT monitor back home. Whoa... too big!

::.. Friday, June 25, 2004 ..::

Watched soccer again last night. Of course I had to, it was the big England Portugal match! Thought I was able to sleep early when England led 1-0. But Postiga was the cause for my eye bags now. Anyway, great penalty flick by him in the shootout. Haha.

Today decided to go to Midvalley Megamall but it was just too damn crowded. Spent 40 minutes driving bumper-to-bumper in the carpark before deciding to get out of there. Really a mad house. Things people will do for a Jusco sale... like my mom. So, went off to trusty ol' 1 Utama, finally going in leaving the house an hour before, when we could have been there 5 minutes from my house. Also installed a CD changer for the new car. Finally, more options for music. Unlike my father's car, where the casette in the player has been there for the past few years. Everyday the same old songs. My father's friends who travel in his car say that the songs are nice. Yup, but not when you listen to it for 3 years straight! Haha.

Think I'll give the Greece France game a skip. Gotta wake up early. Anyway, France is going to win.
On a brighter note, had crabs for dinner as a pre-birthday celebration, since I won't be around for it. That's because of the stupid driving test on the 2nd of July which I totally forgot about. Dinner was at a restaurant at Subang, a favourite hangout for my family when I was younger because of the planes. Get to eat and see planes, what else could be better? Haha. But today, not a sound from the airport. Terminal 3 looked like a ghost town. The restaurant was so damn noisy because a group of people booked half of it for a kid's full moon (1 month, not the RH definition of moon). And for some reason, Chinese people like to have karaokes at these dinners. If the singers are good, fine. But the problem is they suck!! And they make one hell of a racket. And the diners had to shout at the person next to them. I wonder why. Maybe it's a Chinese thing. Like how they like to shout damn loudly into their handphones while everyone stares at them.

Finally done all the chores I was supposed to do in KL. Got my ATM card, touch 'n go card, digi SIM card, taken my passport photos, got the prices for studio picture packages, etc. Time to get back to Singapore.

Meanwhile, thinking about cargo. Sigh...
Just heard from a friend that the August course is going to be for Cargo.

Sigh...

::.. Thursday, June 24, 2004 ..::

Finally got a haircut after much complaints from my parents. RM15 for cut and wash. Not bad. Much cheaper than in Singapore. Of course, 15 bucks for junior stylist, not for an expert. Also got a digi SIM card after the one I was using got confiscated by my sister. I'm just wondering what to do with all the credits in the phone when I come back those few times in a year and find hundreds of dollars worth of credit in the card. I don't think I will be using much of the house phone then. A typical case of being forced to spend. Oh yes, yesterday went to Seng Heng in SS2 to buy the antenna to receive 8TV. The service there is crap. There was 1 boss, who was doing some stuff on the computer, and 3 other employees, all at the counter chit chatting. So I asked for the antenna, which one girl got for me. Then I asked where should I plug it into. The girl asked the boss, who just kept on typing away on the computer. Then he mumbled something about plugging into the RF or AV point. But I said I had the ASTRO point, and he said something again before suddenly stopping and started staring behind me. I turned around and saw that he was staring at the TV behind me. Wow, halfway talking to a customer to be interrupted by a television. So screw him. Then I saw a cordless phone that I was thinking of buying but didn't know the price. So I asked him. Again the blank look. So I asked another girl. The girl just took the box out and put it on the table, and started talking to other people. So I was thinking, fuck these people. I'm not going to Seng Heng again.

I hope people read this post. Muahahaha

::.. Wednesday, June 23, 2004 ..::

Haven't said much, because nothing much has happened since Saturday. Ok let's see, went out a few times with my friends. Went to KLIA to pick up my sister on Monday night. KLIA is quite nice actually. Looks very modern. Much nicer than Changi. But somehow, I just have a gut feeling that its just on the surface, and that the service is lousy. Just a gut feeling. Don't know why I get that kind of vibes with Malaysian stuff.

Been playing the really old game Star Wars: Rebellion too. I always play that game when i come back, so that makes a grand total of twice a year. Although it's old, it's still good, despite the bad reviews it got from critics.

Bought my bus ticket back to Singapore, which will be on Saturday. Wanted to get the ticket for Sunday, but they were all sold out. Forgot that Monday is the first day of school in Singapore. Must be the reason for the lack of tickets. So Saturday it is. Red carpet waiting for me? Anyone?

Oh yeah, my two runs at Kiara = 1 walk at Kiara for my sister. Hahahaha... I just had to add that in.

::.. Saturday, June 19, 2004 ..::

Tired, so will be a short post.

Met up with Ken Lin only because Su Yee bailed on us again. So, two of us just caught up with old times again, like what we always do when I get back. Seems like there is always a lot to talk about when I come around. Weird, I am not away for THAT long right?

After that, met up wtih Eric and MeeLing for mamak. This time the timing was not bad, straight away after dropping off KenLin, I went over to TTDI and saw his car just parked just next to where I did. His parking not that good though. But, wow... Mercedes ok.

I bet my mom is going to wake me up tomorrow at 7AM again. Sigh.

::.. Friday, June 18, 2004 ..::

Days are starting to get draggy and boring. Like today, didn't do much. Played a really old computer game, watched some cable, and went for my run again. By the way, I did two rounds, which felt even worse than 1 round of PGP. The freaking hills and slopes are too much for my tender knees. Haha. But it was a good run still. Also, point to note for myself: do not drink too much water before going up the hill with no toilets.

Finally went out with WeiLiang and Naufal, the first group of friends since I have gone out. Timing was quite bad because Eric called me just 20 minutes before I left asking me to go out too. So, Eric, another time... I also forgot how big roti prata was supposed to be. It is supposed to be two layers, and the size of a plate bigger than the plates that they give in Singapore. Much better than the pathetic ones we get for over-inflated prices in Singapore.

Plan for tomorrow will be to go get the cordless phone and the antenna to receive 8TV. Then, get a table tennis net, a couple of bats and balls so that I can finally make use of the table tennis table at home. Haven't touched it for YEARS. Really years. Easily 10 years since we opened that table. I wonder what icky and creepy creatures are just waiting to jump out when I open it tomorrow.

Okay, enough with some voyeur action with blogs and it's time to hit the sack. My legs ache...

::.. Wednesday, June 16, 2004 ..::

Watched Serendipity today after watching the first 10 minutes a few years ago on the network. Didn't watch the rest of the movie that time because of some codec problems. However, watched the DVD today with no problems whatsoever. And it was a nice movie. Not one which requires a lot of thinking, which I still like, but one that I could sit back and relax. And Kate Beskindale has got it going on!

Had dinner at the club today since it's my father's 60th birthday. So he's retired today from the university after 32 years there, I think. Should be around that number of years, or might be a year or two more. That sure is a long time. So now, he's going to be at a local college doing some administration and less stressful work. Once my sister finishes her studies, I guess he will really retire. Wonder what he'll do then, he doesn't really have much hobbies. Maybe he'll get himself a karaoke set and sing his 1950s and 1960s oldies... or maybe he can start clearing up his office at home, which is a real mess.

Will be going back at the end of the month, stick around in Singapore until my commencement and follow my parents back to KL on Sunday itself. What should I do till then...
So much for running. I just woke up 1 hour ago. Sigh.

::.. Tuesday, June 15, 2004 ..::

Hahaha, I'm such a bastard. Today I joined Joyce in KL to just bum around. So I drove my car over to Kelana Jaya MRT station to park before taking the train to town. Never liked driving to town. So anyway, the parking lot was packed! Was driving around looking for a space when I saw a car leave. Imagine this... 8 x 2 spaces for cars to park, but people were parking 10 x 2. So 4 extra cars at one end of the 2 matrix. Since the car left an empty space at the 10 x 1 slot, I just took it. Wasn't blocking anyone, so should be fine. This story will be continued soon...

KLCC was huge. Haven't been there for ages, and it suddenly seems big. Wanted to get passes for the twin towers bridge, but they were all snapped up. 2000 of them taken by 11am, and they give out passes from 830am only. After meeting up with Joyce, had a nice lunch at Madam Kwan's, an expensive restaurant serving normal hawker food. But, since it's KLCC, the price didn't surprise me. Lunch crowd started coming in around 12pm, especially the people working in the towers. So, we scooted off to Coffee Bean to just bum around. Could see the park behind KLCC from the window seats we got.

After a while, we took a cab over to Timesquare, since I haven't been there before. And to think that KLCC was huge, Timesquare was... huge-r. In fact, too huge and too empty. I'll say that around 40% of the place is still vacant, especially from level 5 onwards. Yup, there are 14 storeys (i think). But the rollercoaster looked reallllllly good. Can't compare to Disneyland in France, but still looked good. Wanted to go on it, but Joyce was too scared. Anybody wants to go? Just let me know. Then after settling Timesquare, we went across to Sungai Wang Plaza and walked around. Joyce bought two hotdogs there. In case you dunno, she sure knows how to eat... Nothing much at Sungai Wang either, so we walked over to Lot 10. And there, she taught me stuff, like what is a Y-string, a V-string, and a T-back. Wow, the things girls learn from magazines.

So, that was about it. Going to Sungai Wang is easy now with the monorail, but it is damn expensive. RM1.20 for one stop only. But much cheaper than driving down plus parking I guess. Which brings me to the conclusion of my opening paragraph. After arriving at the parking lot at Kelana Jaya, I found that my car was right in the middle of the road, since all the cars had left. Oops. Haha, the car looked quite dumb in the middle of the road. Didn't bother much about it, until when I saw a piece of paper on the wiper when I was starting the engine. I took it, and this was what it said "Parking jangan menyusahkan orang lain. BODOH MACAM BABI!" Weeee!!! I pissed someone off today! Hahahaha!!!

Tiring day. Think I'll wake up early to go running again tomorrow.
Ok, the lunch plan didn't materialize, one of them wasn't free. So, will be postponing it to another day. Instead of going out with my friends, I spent my day clearing out junk from the house, as well as making the Ikea chair and cupboard. Sigh, the handyman is back.

Also went to Ikea to get something fixed. Yes, that's right... again. Something wrong with the sliding bar for the cupboard, which they managed to repair. I'm seriously beginning to doubt Ikea products now. Ikea was much emptier today compared to yesterday. I didn't know the mall could be so... empty.

Astro is showing quite a lot of advertisements for the Olympic games. The ads have people saying stuff about what they feel the Olympics is about. They have prominent figures like Pele, Nelson Mandela, and... Avril Lavigne!!?!? Wow, how come she is rubbing shoulders with the likes of Mandela? Ok, I'm not dissing her, but.. I don't see the connection between her and the Olympics. Okay, rambling mode off.

::.. Sunday, June 13, 2004 ..::

Went to Ikea today because my mum wanted to return a chair which was defected. And the chair was bought in February! As usual, buy everything and wait for the computer technician/carpenter/gardener to get back to do all the work. Haha. So, we went to Ikea at 11AM, and the place was deserted! The crowd only started to pour in around 12PM, and boy was there a crowd! Anyway about the chair thing, apparently the guarantee lasts for only 30 days after the purchase, which my mum didn't know. So, after making a bit hoo-ha, they agreed to give her a voucher to buy something else. Got another chair to replace it in the end, since they were out of stock for the one we had. Wanted to get the wooden cupboard thing like Oliver's to keep my father's stuff from his office. Oh yeah, we emptied his office, which had 30 years of stuff! Since he's retiring, my bed room is going to be the unofficial store room. Sigh.

Went to run up that hill today. Boy am I out of shape! One round killed me, but the round had more uphill and downhill than the PGP route, although it was only about 2km. Going to complete two rounds the next time. Met a lot of people at the place too. First, met Peter's parents (from KL, not Spore), then my father's badminton kaki and then another old family friend which we haven't been seeing for quite a while because of an old tiff our parents had. Sigh. They can be quite anal at times.

Going to meet up with some friends tomorrow for lunch. Finally. Haven't met up with anyone since I came back.

::.. Friday, June 11, 2004 ..::

Updates since I came back.. picked up the Waja on Wednesday from Shah Alam. Very nice car, but feels a bit bulkier than the Saga. But, living true to its reputation, the car already had problems on the day of collection. The gearbox was very stiff, and there was a lot of problem shifting into P gear. So, today had to send the car to the authorized mechanic to have it fixed. Well, I keep telling myself "This isn't a Merc". Also, slowly getting used to automatic transmission. Driving has suddenly become boring without a clutch. Just press the accelerator, and once in a while, press the brakes. Anyway, the Saga will probably be disposed of in July when I go back. That's what my mum said, so I figure I will still be using the Saga for now. Sigh, and I thought I will be able to use the new car in the near future. Too good to be true.

So, that was the highlight since I came back. That apart from the renovations that were done to the front of the house. Our fence isn't collapsing anymore. Excellent... I could enter my house just by doing through my fence. So, the front part has been tiled up. The roof has been extended more to the gate. The fence replaced with a brick wall and a new gate installed.

Nothing to do here anymore. And 56 kbps modem sucks...

::.. Tuesday, June 08, 2004 ..::

Hi from KL! I'm finally back after a 4 1/2 hour journey by bus from Singapore. Managed to sleep half of the journey because I woke up early today. So, was knocked out by the time we left the JB customs. Bus ride was quite uneventful. Everyone was frozen stiff because of the aircond. So was I. Luckily the bus stopped for our toilet break in time. Phew.

And now here I am, rotting in front of computer with a lousy 56 kbps dial-up modem. After being spoilt rotten by first NUSNET, followed by cable, this is pure torture. I think I won't come online too much. Going to go out more often. That, of course, depends if the people back home are free or not. But, one thing is for sure, I'm going to be dragged up that Kiara hill tomorrow morning at 7AM by my mum!! That's right... 7AM, and MUM! I'm going to die up there...

If I don't survive that hill, this will be my last post...

::.. Sunday, June 06, 2004 ..::

Just got back from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (think that's how it's spelt). Found the movie quite good, very different from the previous two. And boy, Emma Watson is a babe now!!! No Daniel, no. She's still a kid. I said, no! Sigh, ok...

Had dinner with Perd, Val and TsoiGa at the Plaza Singapura kopitiam. Oh before that, have to mention the bus ride to the place. The freaking Orchard Road was jammed packed with cars. Took me 10 minutes to get from Scotts Road to PS. However, a plus point was that there was a Sun Yanzi lookalike babe on the bus. Boy, I sure enjoyed the view throughout the entire ride.

Anyway, after dinner, we headed off to Swensens, and were joined by CP and gf, HJ, Rashmi and Stan. And since it is Val's birthday, she decided to give us a treat. But, we also got her a birthday cake, so it kinda evened out.

Okay, good thing that I'm going back to KL soon. I'm BROKE!!! BROKE BROKE!

Sleep...

::.. Friday, June 04, 2004 ..::

Dammit! I was happily meddling with my template this afternoon, and I am very very sure I did not click publish. But it still got published! Now I am with the latest template code that I saved, which is quite different from the one I used. Sigh. Anyone can spot the difference? Let me know, I wanna restore them.
The rain almost spoilt my driving licence registration. But luckily it stopped raining by afternoon. So, lunch was at West Mall, which is not a bad place after all. So, exam day will be on 2nd of July. Lots of time to study. Speaking of studying, Long and I met Celine at the driving centre who was taking her theory test today. Who took actually. She was there early (around 330PM) because her driving school wanted her to do some Ten Year Series for the driving test. Yes, you heard that right. Ten Year Series for driving test. The person who came up with the Ten Year Series concept must be rolling in cash now. For me, the plain 'ol studying for the test will work just fine.

Also, I got myself a new bolster to replace my trusty old one from JC. Too bad the trusty old bolster got dumped in the dustbin in RH. Hehe. So, the new one is here. And it's bigger too. Can use my legs to hug it also. Just dumped the bolster cover into a pail to wash. Can't wait to use it tomorrow.

Going to watch Harry Potter 3 tomorrow with Val and co. Jenny pointed out recently that I have quite a large group of friends, which I didn't really notice. Okay, Val and co. is one BIG group. Then, I have my flatmates, splitmates and co. Next, I have my ex-Hwachongians friends. And also the Ryan, Wanying and co. Hmmm... I think the acquaintances I made in engineering faculty don't really count. So, quite a big circle of friends. I REALLY hope I didn't miss out anybody. If I did, oops. Or just include yourself into one of these groups. I'm sure you will fit in quite well. Haha. Anyway, just a point I noticed. Nothing really important.

That's all for today. Broke.
It's raining now. So much for registering for the driving test...

::.. Thursday, June 03, 2004 ..::

After months and months of deliberating, I have finally gotten myself a new pair of working shoes. This pair is to replace my ever-faithful pair of Bata shoes. 9 years since I bought it for St. John. Unfortunately for them, it has come to the "ta" stage of Bata, which means it is time to throw it away! Not much choice, it's getting uncomfortable, the PVC (that's right, not leather) is beginning to crack and it basically sucks. So, I managed to find the right pair of shoes to replace this antique: a 100 bucks Hush Puppies shoe. Actually would have cost me 125, but with the 20% off, I managed to get it for 100 bucks. See, I saved 25 dollars today! Also, the shoe must be good, because, as the old saying goes, a person is judged by the shoes he wears. So, I guess I'm ok then.

Also, I found a nice shirt at U2, but I think I'll go back to Malaysia to see how much it costs back home before buying. Not bad, after shopping for the afternoon, I managed to discipline myself to just get the shoe, and not anything else. I'm so proud of myself.

Tomorrow's project would be to register for my Singapore driving licence at Bukit Batok. I hope I can leave my place by 10AM... if I wake up. Been waking up at 12PM these days. I wonder why.

Just got back from watching The Day After Tomorrow, which I thought was a pretty decent movie. Not as great as his other movie, Independence Day, but definitely much better than Godzilla.

So, it was the usual crowd of Junda, Ryan, Wanying, Yvonne, Rohana, Chin Hooi, Jinsheng, plus the extra company of Frank, Serene, KM, Diane, Bill, Yee Seng... I think I missed out some other names, but hmmm, never mind. Anyway, as usual, with the same group of people, I spent a lot of money again. On food especially. Ate at this Japanese restaurant, where I got some mee with fried salmon. The food was not bad, and it better had been considering the price of it. But one damn irritating thing about the place was that the employees had to shout some stupid Japanese words whenever someone comes in or leaves the place. I bet they don't do that in Japan.

Also, forgot that Wednesday is a public holiday. So, the ticket was 8.50. Sigh. And oh yes, I'm going back next Tuesday. Probably for a 3 week break. A break back home from a break in Singapore.
