Watched The Incredibles last night, and it sure was a good show. Much better than the other shows by Pixar. Before Finding Nemo fans start stoning me, let me explain that I don't really like those sappy type of shows. Funny shows like the Incredibles is more my type of tea.

And my computer died just a few minutes ago! The CPU just shut down, and made some funny sounds. Had to switch off the mains for about 10 minutes before switching it back on. It can't be dying... the computer is less than a year old. If it is, I think this would be the last AMD I will be buying.

The bombshell dropped on Thursday when they finally decided to terminate one of my coursemates. He was the one who had problems with the check. I'll have to say that he was really unlucky because there are others who also had problems, but he was the only one who got into trouble. I think he just became a victim of the people upstairs wanting to make a point.

So, naturally morale was quite low. The person who really felt bad was his good friend who had an unofficial responsibility of guiding him in his flying since he is really good. And the low morale atmosphere lingered on to Friday, especially when you see his empty seat.

But, like what our instructors advised us, life goes on.

I typed quite a bit of stuff earlier today, but my beloved blogger decided to crash on me. So, I was left with nothing but an empty screen. Not in a mood to type that much anymore. But, I will make a summary.

Cleaned the bathroom outside because it was way dirty. Been bathing there quite often because of the hot water. Yes, my landlord refused to fix the heater in my bathroom because he already had to fix a broken television and a broken washing machine even before we moved in. But actually, he should fix it right? I mean, it's not my problem. Decided not to make a big fuss out of it since he was nice enough to replace the television and the washing machine already. So back to the cleaning. Managed to remove a sizeable amount of dirt and crap from the walls, floor, pipes, and even the shower hose. Yes, all the dirt flying on to my body when the water hits the dirt while I bathe. So, really clean bathing in future. By the way, this is not a complaint...

I am studying stuff like FM and AM again! This is a bad case of dejavu. I vaguely remember studying this in my second year of uni, and I did VERY badly in it. Argh! I hate communications!

Other stuff I am studying are like meteorology, navigation, flight planning, BIOLOGY! Oh yes, good ol' biology that I studied... 7 years ago. Surprisingly, I still can remember stuff like left ventrical, aorta, functions of the blood system, the distribution of blood, haemoglobin, etc. Good thing the lights upstairs are still functioning.

Was going to go back to camp around 3pm, but I started playing the Sims again. Sigh. After half an hour, it started to get real cloudy and no way am I going to walk in the rain. So, I guess I will go back after dinner. In the meantime, I should get down to some real studying.
Decided to clean up the outside bathroom today when I was bathing there. I always bathe there these days because I can't stand bathing in cold water that the bathroom in my room offers. Then I decided that bathing in such dirty conditions might actually make me more filthy. So, grabbed a scrub and removed a whole lot of dirt from the floors, the pipes, the shower hose, the walls... can't believe how much dirt could collect in such a short time.

Note: this is not a complaint.

Lessons have begun for ATPL, and boy what a difference it is from Tech lessons. Before, we used to have "free" periods to listen to music, and sleep... But now, every period is a solid one hour of digesting information and doing exercises. Like what the seniors said before, the coming 3 months will be really tough. So lots of sacrifices to be made. Meaning, lots of studying to be done. Sigh.

By the way, The Sims 2 is a really great game. Played the original game back in 2001 during my first year and I must say the new version is much better. Got lots of new options to do. And now, the Sims actually grow old and die. So, the first mission for my sim is to get married and have a kid. One kid is enough trouble. My Sim is now a smuggler, bringing in lots of money. The game sure is realistic...

Oh yeah, my last post was quite bad for my housemates. So, I want to state a point: my housemates are the greatest! Yup, they sure are. Although they are messy (more like only 1 actually), I can't find any other qualms about them. So, ignore my earlier post about them.

Have not done any editing on my blog recently, unlike when I was back in uni where I more or less changed the template every week. And now I also realize why people who have started working don't blog as much as they did during school times. We just don't have the time to say anything. Also, we don't really want to say stuff regarding work, in case we get sued until "our pants drop off".

That's all for now. Gotta get back to my meteorology studies.

Help! I live in a pig sty! The one in Yew Tee I mean. And here is proof:

1. We have a residential lizard who lives off food that we dump into the dustbin and don't empty for days.

2. There was a dead lizard along the corridor for at least two weeks. I saw it there before and wanted to see how long it'll take for it to disappear. Two weeks. And that was because I removed it.

3. The toilet has black watermarks all over the floor.

4. The living room floor is damn bloody dusty.

So, I took the liberty to clean up the house. Swept the floor, mopped the floor (twice), cleaned the stove, wiped all the furniture. In the process, cleaned off at least 300g of dust.

It's sad that I am only here for the weekends and I think I'm doing most of the cleaning. I wonder how the hell my housemates can live in this horrible conditions. And it doesn't help that one of my housemates is not in speaking terms with the other two. What the hell, so nobody has to do anything huh? Feeling angsty now, and for a legitimate reason too.

If all goes well with my training, I am going to get a place on my own somewhere near Simei, or Tampines, or Pasir Ris. ON MY OWN! Means I clean up my own mess, not other people's mess. Yeah... that's how it should be. Can't wait for that.

Oooohhh.... what do we have here... a quiz! Yes, it's been a while since I've done a quiz, and I am now all excited about one. Sigh...

Architecture
You are Architecture. You are the most functional art form and rarely do
anything without some practical purpose.
Although you are capable of easilly outstaging
the other arts, you usually prefer to go
unnoticed.

What form of art are you?

Just got back from the Motorshow with Oliver, and boy were there babes! The babes to look out for are the S2000 and Civic babes from Honda, and the Yamaha bikes babe. One of the Subaru babes was good too. Got to take a few pictures with them before they got overwelmed by hormone-raging guys. And girls too. Oh yeah, the cars were cool.
Finished my tech paper yesterday finally. 6 papers in 4 hours sure isn't easy. Overall, I found the papers okay. But, I'm still not very confident. As we all know, shit happens. So, I just hope for the best, and perpare for the worst.

Right after the tech paper, we got back to camp and prepared the initiation for the juniors. All 40 of them. And as we expected, it was a big mess. That's the problem when we just dump 40 people together who have not mixed well enough yet. Now I really believe that OBS really helps. Everyone says that. So we can't really blame the juniors. It's just the situation that they are in.

After the whole thing, we thought that they would be okay. But they lived up to their expectations by not cleaning up the cookhouse last night. The caterer had to clean up the muddy floors this morning. Our initiation IC is going to get hell on Tuesday...

Currently waiting to go for lunch, and with some time to kill, I might as well update this cob-webbed blog of mine.

The past week was an up and down week for my class. Tuesday was a high morale day with 2 people going solo (could have been 3 but I screwed up). We also celebrated one guy's birthday. Then on Friday, morale was at an all-time low when we found out that 2 guys have to go for review due to performance. I wasn't surprised about one of the guys, but the other guy was doing well, and is on review just because of one bad judgement. It is situations like this that really scared me. One bad call, one stupid mistake and all my hardwork would be down the drain. But I think he should be okay. Overall, he is good.

Exams on Friday, and the initiation of the next 2 batches will be on that night. So, my batch will be the facilitating batch. 18 of us are going to be expected to take care of 40 people. How crazy is that? And worse still, 3 of the guys are going back to Malaysia. Well, at least they volunteered to stay for as long as possible before they have to leave to catch their bus. But there is another guy who is really unreasonable. He just doesn't want to come down because he is lazy. So, 14 people are supposed to take care of the 40 guys? How selfish is that? Just the other day, he asked one of my housemates to pack dinner for him, so that he can take a nap. Luckily for him, the other guy is quite a nice guy, so he obliged. Not sure if it was reluctantly or not. If he asked me, I would have said "If you're lazy to eat, then don't eat". That was also my standard answer back in hall. If the person has a valid reason like he is still in class, or attending a lecture, or rushing back in the bus, then I would gladly oblige. But not for a stupid reason like "I want to nap".

So on top of Mr Pack-Dinner-For-Me, I also have Mr I-Can't-Hold-My-Dick-To-Pee-And-I-Pee-All-Over-The-Floor as a housemate. What's up with these guys? I understand that we got back from OBS where anything goes. But, it's been two months and he can't still aim? Sigh. Maybe it's a genetic problem, and he just can't aim. So I shall not say too much about it. After telling him so many times, I just don't want to nag anymore.

A new instructor arrived just a few days ago. But strangely, he isn't assigned to any of the guys from the next batch. Maybe he will be going through some training for the next month or so. He looks like a kid. But so does one of the other instructors, and he sure is a monster! On the ground, he looks gentle and nice, but once he puts on his headset, he turns into a monster. "Come on man!", "You're flying all over the shop!", "I'm going to fail you, man! I'm going to fail you, man!", "You don't know where you're going!", "Stop sitting on your ass!", "What are you doing?!?". Some of the more mild comments from him in the air. For more realism, add more exclamation marks to the sentences.

I am hungry!!!

::.. Friday, November 05, 2004 ..::

No updates for last week because it was a really busy week. But now I managed to grab a small breather to write down some of my thoughts. C-Check was on Thursday. Good thing my examiner was in a good mood, because he really screwed the guys today. Hard to believe that the guy could be that tough on the guys. College exams are still not over, with one of the instructors not feeling well. So, we'll still have the exams on Monday and Tuesday. But, doesn't really matter because I still have to study for the REAL exams on Friday.

Weather has been sucky lately, so most of the flights were cancelled. But, the best time would be to go up during the morning, when the skies are clear. Like it was during my check. Now that the check is over, it will be ground studies all the way till March. Boring... just when I was starting to get used to flying. Also, I have some unfinished business with flying. Landings have become a bit bumpy. Just a few hours before the check, my landings were, not being boastful, but they were excellent. Got really good comments from my instructor. But, things got from bad to worse. Good thing the check came a bit earlier than normal, else it might be really bad.

So, now not really looking forward to ground studies, but looking forward to Perth.
