And just like that, another 50 episodes of Gundam is done.

Moving on to Full Metal Alchemist.

Will be having an exam tomorrow at 10AM. I hope I wake up early. Have been dragging myself out of bed at 1030 everyday since Monday.

And, as most of you guys know by now, time is slowly crawling past for me... Don't worry. In due time, next week to be exact, it should improve.

Oh God dammit... I just found out that I did not log out of the internet properly, and I just spent 6.5 hours online, doing nothing! Heck, at least if I was downloading some music, I would not have been that pissed. Bloody hell...

Finally, the great escape to the south happened yesterday. What a great day it was.
The skies were clear, although at times a little bumpy. And all 6 of us made it there and back alive. The sacred land deserves a picture for being... sacred.

And since I took the trouble to upload this picture, what is another picture? How does this compare to forest fires back home?

Done another aspect of the job here, the night one. I am not referring to the night out to Exotica. That was done ages ago! Instead, this is serious business. No more Exotica for me. Once is enough.

Tomorrow is, again, the big navigation day. This time, we will have a fleet of 6 aircraft heading down south. Let's see if any will make it there or not.

Quote of the week: "Smart ass"

Okay, you guessed it right. Cancelled.

But instead of just bumming around like I usually would, some other guys who suffered the same fate as me and I decided to take a trip to a wildlife park. Finally, we are doing something tourist-y. But it took us a good 40 minutes to get there. Good things sure don't come easy these days.

And so there were the usual suspects waiting for us: kangaroos, wallabies, dingos, wombats, koalas, and a whole lot more of other inferior beings. Hah. And took lots of photos too. 100 photos to be exact. Haven't taken this many photos for quite a while. Better to make use of the large memory space.

Anyway, when I came back, I found out that a few of the guys did manage to go up.

Oh well, what is done is done. Try again tomorrow.

Roommate and TwoDoorsUp have gone for their weekly dance classes. RealSkyline, ChickenNehNeh and Shadow are having a barbeque, but not before clearing out the fridge. EagleBoy has gone to entertain his "friend". SIA has gone to Subiaco. Apalasiong is in town with his wife. RockMat is nowhere to be seen. The same goes with Hansem. That left only four people from my course having dinner together just now. That was a sad sight. I hope I won't be one of four people remaining of the course in a few months time having dinner together.

Operation Down South failed yesterday. Hope to have better luck tomorrow.

The whole room is to myself now. It is going to be like this for quite a while once the express-train Roommate leaves this place. And with that, I can just play any song I like. And some songs that bring back secondary school times:

1. Third Eye Blind: Deep Inside You
2. Blur: Song2
3. Wallflowers: One Headlight
4. Goo Goo Dolls: Name
5. Garbage: Only Happy When It Rains
6. Gin Blossoms: Till I Hear It From You
7. Cranberries: Zombie
8. Smashing Pumpkins: 1979
9. Robbie Williams: Millennium
10. Oasis: Wonderwall

I was once teased by a friend of mine, a few years younger than me, that my music list is full of oldies. Of course, I defended the songs. But when you think of it, it really has been that long. A decade. Wow, time sure flies by really fast. I can almost see myself as the nerdy kid with glasses who burried himself in books who never really had a world beyond the classrooms: school and tuition. If I could go back in time, I would tell that kid to get out of the classroom more and just have a go at life. There is more to life than books! But I can't. That kid's long gone. What is left is a 25 year old kid who is looking into his biography book with blank pages, which could have been filled up with so much more.

Nonetheless...

There should be, I hope, many more years ahead. And the book has many pages to be filled. I hope they will be as colourful, if not more, as the ones before.

Cancelled.

Sigh.

Tomorrow will be the long awaited journey down south. If weather permits. A fleet of five Cessnas will be taking the scenic trip down. Oh joy for the fuel attendant. Hah. It is not every day that he will get such good business as this.

Quote of the month: Thanks for passing.

Today was the first day of our classes. Although I set the alarm clock at 7AM, I only really woke up at 730AM. I hate classes...

And, as usual, the rest of the day was a wash out.

::.. Tuesday, October 04, 2005 ..::

Now we are not allowed to park our cars at "Rottnest" at the back. Instead, we have to park at a public car park which is 1km away. At least it will make us exercise.

The weekend flyers strike back! It was a huge mess in the air today as the skies cleared and everyone scrambled to take advantage of the sudden good weather. That made 10 people flying all sorts of funny patterns with 1 white-haired controller trying to stop us from killing ourselves.
Decided to give my sea legs a go this evening and headed down to the Sports Complex with TwoDoorsUp. And on the way there, ol' Betsy got caught by the speeding camera! I know it sounds ironic, but the planets must have been aligned in some manner today. He says he isn't going to drive for the next two weeks. But he just mentioned he is going to take a drive up north on Monday. Another irony.

A good thing I was sitting in his car when he got flashed by the camera, because when five of us went to town later for dinner, I was driving real cautiously. And a cop car was just by the side around a corner, looking to book people who are speeding. Too bad for him, I was within limits. Phew.

The guy who went back in 8 months and complained that it was too long got a grilling for taking too long by the big boss.

I'm doomed.
Nothing much to blog about. Hence, the absence. It has been a gloomy and dark week with low clouds and strong winds. Haven't been doing much too. But, the best part about Phase 3 is that while everyone is grounded due to the poor weather, I can go up! That's right suckers!

And the best part is that since my instructor is a senior instructor with tonnes of checks to conduct, I can be on standby in the event that the weather deteriorates. But, I left him with his own time to study for his exams. They should be very soon. I can understand how he feels with the exams. When you are 40, you do NOT want to think about studying.

The Gundam Seed: Destiny soundtrack has a very distinct similarity to Star Wars. Not only does the music sound the same, so does the plot. Shinn == Anakin. Dulandil == Palpatine. Requiem == Death Star. Asuran == Obi Wan. Not very creative on the part of the Japanese, but nonetheless, still entertaining.

Speaking of Japanese, we are going to have a Japanese instructor very soon. Ke soh!

Yesterday morning, I was going through Friendster, and finally they have included a feature that I thought was long overdue: an option to see who has viewed your profile! The first thing that went through my shallow mind was: there goes my profile voyeuring days. But, as expected, there is an option to disable that function. Yes, good days are still here to stay.

The waiting list:
P1: 5
P2: 6
P3: 1
P4: 2

Decided to remove this huge chunk of ramblings that my friend said may get me into trouble. And with the huge hoo-ha about blogging in Singapore, I decided not to take any chances. I am a chicken.
