Hey, I like the way they make me feel like I have abilities and skills.

Only one paper remaining. Must hang on to whatever energy I have left. Not because I need it for the paper. Okay, yes, I need it for my paper. But I need some extra N.O.S. for my FYP CA2 presentation preparation that I have yet to begin. Here's the plan:

:Friday:
11AM: Exams end. Chill.
Around 2PM: Meet Dr TeoKL to see what he thinks I should put in my report.
After the meeting: Start on my report.

:Saturday:
Around 10AM: Meet Dr TeoKL to see what he thinks about my overnight work.

Until Sunday, make ammendments to try to scrape as many points as possible for my presentation.

Also, made my last trip to the central library for this semester. That's the plan anyway. Who knows... I might need to go back there for FYP. Yes, the dreaded word... it should have been made into a four lettered word instead. It would have worked fine for me.

Was watching the news about an accident where a taxi ploughed into the back of a lorry. There was this very short footage of the back seats, where the two passengers were killed. The editors decided they had to protect little kids' innocence and so, what I assume to be bodies were blurred. God dammit... it's exam times! I want to see bodies!

Maybe it's time to revive Counterstrike.

By the way, the Student Discourse link on your left hasn't been updated for... an entire year. Nonetheless, the articles is a good read. That is, if you haven't got enough of hundreds of pages worth of readings from your law, HRM, and what-have-you.

Decided to change my blog title. The target now is GRADUATION. After that... maybe I'll change it to... [::.. Getting A Job and Beyond ..::]. But till then, I'll concentrate on the problems at hand... yes, the three lettered word. Fun.

Just as I thought it couldn't get any worse, today's paper was an absolute killer! Don't bother doing past year papers anymore. They will just con you into thinking that the standard of the coming exam would be so high only. When in actual fact, it is MUCH tougher. Two papers taken so far, and two papers to bear testimony. I should have taken the paper last year when it was much, MUCH easier. Only consolation I can get out of this is that everyone else found it difficult, no, fucking difficult as well. So, maybe there is a glimmer of hope left.

Maybe I should change my nick... for my first paper, it was "This MOS, this BJT, this BiCMOS, I'm not afraid". Sing to the tune of Immitations of Life by REM. Then for this paper, it was "This GOS, this (something I forgot), this CDMA, I'm not afraid". Must be due to the nick. Time to switch to less sarcastic nicks.

Once again, overconfidence...

I just hate it when lecturers decide to have it easy for the exams for one year, then the next year (MY year), they decide to send us to the slaughterhouse. They should be more consistent. I hope the Gaussian distribution will work for me.

Brain dead now. Can't blog.
Exactly 14 hours until my EE4412 paper. Yawn. I'm so sick of studying it already. Just want to get it over with, even though I'm not exactly that confident. Then again, after reading so much, maybe I do deserve to be confident. But, there's a thin line between being confident, and being over-confident. Overconfidence... the bane of my education. As proven in my spiraling grades (downwards, not upwards) from sec school onwards.

Ok, I must start sleeping early. No more tucking in at 3:30AM. Can barely stay awake during the day anymore. Gonna sleep soon. Ahhh... my bed. Ahhh... the cool air from the rain today. Ahhhh.....

Which OS are You?

Heh, the html code given by the test sucked. It was screwed up. Thanks to my superb HTML skills, I managed to fix it. And yes, while I'm at it, I would also like to point out that I'm very humble and modest. It's true.
Today was a day solely dedicated to EE4412. The technology of silicon... not boobs, but silicon transistors. Although if I do plan to have a career change and venture into the boob business, I just might stand a chance. Till then, it's transistors and other boring stuff.

EE4412 in the morning, EE4412 in the afternoon, and EE4412 at night. Been quite productive in the library, reading through all my notes, trying to understand everything, and doing tutorials while trying not to leave too many blank spaces. At night, it was discussion time with the rest, although it took an hour longer than planned. Still, learnt quite a lot of stuff. One more day to go, and I can start planning about implanting boobs, oops, I mean donor and acceptor atoms.

Boy, if I'm all into this implants (!) thing now, wait till I prepare for my Silicon Processing Technology paper next week. One whole week full of fun. Weeee....

Hmmm... I seem to have lost my body odour. Hooray.

You are Diet Coke. You are probably thin, beautiful

You are also very superficial.You can be quite

Yet another online tutorial completed. What more do they have for us?
Library was emptier this week compared to last week. All seats would have been taken up by 1030 last week. Arriving at 12PM today (overslept), there were still quite a lot of seats available. Most probably students with exams in the morning would be too lazy to study in the afternoon. And students with papers in the afternoon would be too lazy to go in the morning. Well, that's good news for me.
Decided not to go to Central Library today, because was feeling quite lazy. Thought that I could do some studying in RH library instead. I was wrong. Now I remember why I had to go to Central Library to get some real studying done. Too many familiar faces in RH library. Before I knew it, I was talking crap with people, walking back to my room for no reason, staring at the ceiling, and a lot of things apart from studying. So, not that productive today. Nonetheless... it is back to the Central Library today to smack myself back on track. Not on track for a second upper of course. That's a lost case. But, to maintain my second lower. God forbids if I drop to third class. Touch wood.

Not much news on cnn regarding the forest fires in California. Wonder what happened. Did Arnie save the day again? But, in today's (or yesterday's) news, the new ship Queen Mary II claimed its first victims when 15 people perished when they plunged to their deaths after the gangway linking the dock and the ship collapsed. If you are a sucker for superstitions, I guess this ranks quite high up there with the champagne bottle not breaking during the christianing of the ship. Also, George Bush will be visiting his Tony Lapdog Blair this week in London. Extra security has been enforced, in light of the bombings of two synagogues in Turkey which killed 24 people. Also, another two helicopters crashed when they collided while evading a missile, killing 17 soldiers. Well, another one bites the dust.

Back to home news, managed to push back the CA2 presentation to Monday so that Dr TeoKL can take a look at my report before I hand it in. Not much difference for me: presentation is on Monday instead of Saturday. So, TeoKL can only see my report on Saturday, since my last paper is going to be on Friday. Doesn't take a genius to realize that I still have to finish by Saturday.

Going to tuck myself into bed. Ahhhhh..... *zonk*

Just came back from a JC classmate's wake. Went with Jay Sern, Sze Lee, Jye Sheng and Guo Loong. Also was a chance to catch up with the guys... haven't hanged out with them for quite a while. Mum was there to talk to us, telling us stories, so we just sat there and listened. Apparently this was his last operation (he had numerous for one whole year), and it was the last operation that was botched. In the end, I guess it was too much for anyone, and he passed 3 days after his birthday. Quite a lot of newspaper articles about his death, considering that he achieved 11A1s for O-Levels, 8As for A-Levels, and was a DSTA scholar.

What a waste.

Those HRM people sure didn't spare us when they set the paper. It sure was one tough paper. However, maybe that's how we feel when we sit for exams... we feel that ours is tough, but previous ones were easier. So, maybe you buggers who will be looking at past year papers (my paper) will say "Hey this is so easy. How come Daniel screwed up?" Haha.

Today, something incredible happened... Jenny Ooi came online! Wow. It's a rarity especially in the last week. Anyway, resting now, after pushing my brain too much for the exam. I have a low brain pressure threshold, yes... So, will continue studying only tonight.

Riswanto will be taking my notes for HRM. So all you late people, like Jin Sheng... tough luck. Must be fast when you want to chop notes. Haha.

::.. Wednesday, November 12, 2003 ..::

What a long day. Spent a few hours studying HRM in library before rushing off to meet ChoiWK to ask him some stuff. Spent about an hour there, waking up my ideas on certain concepts. Haha. Then, quickly rushed off to meet TeoKL for my progress report, and almost got screwed because of some misunderstandings. He thought I have been slacking without doing any experiments because the Masters student had not been updating the PhD student who reports to TeoKL. So as far as the PhD student is concerned, I have not been doing nutz. Well, things calmed down after I explained everything to him. Now, he also wants my CA2 presentation to be postponed because he wants to go through my report before I hand in to Dr Mansoor. So I guess I have to email Dr Mansoor again, but this time with an even better excuse: supervisor says so. Hehe. Hopefully it will work.

Decided that the toughest topic in HRM is the stupid chapter on Self and Role. Everything is so damn vague that it almost seems like bullshit. In fact, I actually do think it's bullshit already. At least the other topics are understandable. But no, this one needs a lot of imagination, which I lack of. Hopefully I won't die because of that topic. Been reading quite a bit, but reading is one thing... understanding and REMEMBERING is another thing.

One more day of HRM before sitting for the exam and returning all that I have learnt back to NUS. Hooray. Let's go!

You are Form 0, Phoenix: The Eternal.

::.. Sunday, November 09, 2003 ..::

Woke up yesterday at 9AM, because of a call from my postgrad FYP student asking me to go to lab because she was doing PLD. Damn... even with the exams next week I still have to go to lab. Sigh... Going to meet my supervisor on Tuesday also. Sure is challenging balancing FYP and exam preparations.

Then last night, Chi Anh, Ryan, Jin Sheng, Keng Joo, Oliver, Chin Long and I went over to GV Marina to catch the latest installation of the Matrix. Although it was quite a good movie, I kind of preferred one of the theories, which is on Riswanto's blog. Before leaving, Oliver, Keng Joo, Chi Anh and I were at the central library. Just after we got back from there, it started pouring, and I mean, really very heavy rain. And we had to walk to the busstop under the umbrella under the pouring rain. Although I did get quite wet, it wasn't as bad as Keng Joo, who was splashed with road water when a car drove past him. Haha. It was quite funny. Heh.

And today it's HRM day. Been reading a lot, highlighting important points, and hoping that the important points get into my head. At least it is open book, so I don't really have to memorize too many things. Looked through a few past year papers and the questions sure aren't easy. Almost like GP composition. Oh well, I figure I will return everything back to the lecturer once my exams are over... like what I always do.

And Keng Joo bought a new pair of Teva slippers.... exactly the same model as Eric's.... and Prem's... Eric was hopping mad.

::.. Friday, November 07, 2003 ..::

Oh yeah, Oliver wants me to mention that he returned a wallet he found containing S$150 to the library counter. Since I mentioned about Wanying's case, he wants his story to be heard to. Moral: A1.
Yet another day in the library. This time I came prepared with LONG trousers. So I didn't freeze up this time. Tomorrow going to go again. And Chin Long will make an attempt to go after two days of failure. He puts the blame squarely on the Champions League games, which he MUST watch.

Tony Adams is finally a manager, but at Wycombe, not Arsenal. Can't really compare with the marble halls of Highbury. Hopefully he will do well, and one day, be a manager of Arsenal. That would be great for Mr Arsenal.

Spent the night doing my FYP presentation, drawing up the graphs for PL using Excel. and reading up on VSM. Sigh... Never mind, I'll just get it done with as soon as possible.

Realized that the blog isn't exactly the place to bitch about people. But, it's MY blog and I can bitch as much as I like. Muahahahaa... sure, I won't go and slander or make false accusations. But, it's MY blog and I can say whatever I feel. Muahahahahaa...

::.. Wednesday, November 05, 2003 ..::

Spent the whole afternoon in Central Library, trying to study EE4411. Boy, after slacking off for 1 month, I have forgotten most of the stuff. Sigh, back to square one.

FYP presentation is the next day after my last paper. Sigh. Don't know if I will have enough time to prepare my powerpoint presentation and my four page report, as requested by Dr Mansoor. Probably have to work overnight. And hopefully I would have enough results by then to show. So means more lab work during my exams. SIGH.

And a certain cinema in Shaw House has a really lousy server! Each page takes about 2 minutes to load, for non-java script pages. And for java script pages, it takes about 5 minutes. After keying in my bookings, it took them 15 minutes to load the page to tell me that the transaction failed. Feeling really pissed off, I decided to take my business over to Golden Village, which has a much better server. The lousy server must be running on pre-pentium technology. Time to upgrade man.

::.. Tuesday, November 04, 2003 ..::

Finally done with HRM presentation. We did three skits which were pretty funny, if I may say so myself. Oliver came up with some funny lines, which the class found funny too. Unfortunately, Keng Joo didn't. And he was bitching about it during class. Get over it man. Who cares what you think when our teacher gave us an A for that. Speaking of grades, we also found out that our report got a B. Actually, Keng Joo found out, and when he got back, he stormed into my room, telling me that we got a B for it. Then he started blabbering "Slack some more-lah. Slack lah." WTF man... so, it's the rest of the group's fault that we got a B for it? I guess if he did it alone, he would have gotten an A. Another way of looking at it would probably be that he's just whining and complaining, like "Shit, we suck.". Note the "we". I hope that is what he means, because if he's really bitching about the rest of us, and accusing us of sub-standard work, I will be BLOODY pissed.

Wanying lost her wallet yesterday but found it today when OSA emailed her informing her that it was with that. While all her ID and cards are with her now, her money is gone. While I guess she should be grateful for the return of her wallet, I guess she deserves to be a bit pissed that the person actually stole her money. But then again, it could be someone else stealing the money before the good samaritan returned the wallet to OSA. Also reminds me about how dangerous it is to put all my ID into my wallet, like my IC, driving licence, matriculation card, student pass, ATM card... But I'm still doing it anyway. Just have to take extra precautions with my wallet I guess. Luckily Singapore is still quite relatively safe. If it was back home in KL, I won't dare to put everything into my wallet.

Ok... now with the HRM presentation over, I can continue with my preparations for the final exam. Hooray. Oh yeah, just did the online feedback. My vote for best teacher would be..... Dr Choi WK. Although he gave us some shitty grades for our project, I still find him a good lecturer. So there...

::.. Sunday, November 02, 2003 ..::

Overslept this morning and woke up at 12PM. Well, after one week of waking up at 830AM, couldn't really take it today. So, well... one morning gone. Afternoon, was browsing through xiaonan's ftp and found terminator 3! If you recall, I said I was going to watch it during the June holidays. Since it didn't work out, this is the backup. So, watched Terminator 3. And Judgement Day DID happen. Hmmm, wonder if Terminator 4 is going to come out or not. I doubt it.

Going to make sure I finish reading Stupid White Men these holidays. Got incentive this time because his second book, Dude Where's My Country is already out! And I can't wait to read more of his Republican Bashing. Hehe. Should be a good read.

::.. Saturday, November 01, 2003 ..::

My wish came partially true. Halfway through the experiment, we realized that the machine wasn't working correctly. So we ended 3 hours earlier. Hooray. Rest. Sleep.
Too tired to say much. Went to lab at 930AM, and only got back at 530PM. Going to go back tomorrow at 9AM. Got special permission to enter DSI during the weekend. But then, secretly, I'm hoping it failed, and I don't have to go back. Too worn out from today. Need sleep. And I miss Gundam.
