Yesterday was quite a long day. Was planning to get my employment pass and driving license but again, could not do it. MOM needed a day to process everything. So ok, but they took my passport too, which meant that I also could not get my driving license.
So everything pushed to today. Got my employment pass for 60 bucks for 2 years, and the driving license, which will come in 2 weeks. Had to pay 50 bucks for that too. Saw the guy from ESPN's Football Focus at the Traffic Police building also. He's the guy who sits on the right.
After that, met up with LiWei and Naz at Lavender MRT to get our OBS gear. Got some stuff like ziplock bags, mosquitor coils, disposable underwear (haha)... Decided not to get a bag since I already have one, which I hope will not fail me this time. The last time I used it, which was a year ago, my back almost died carrying it around.
Bought the book by Stephen Ambrose "Bang of Brothers" from Kinokunya at Bugis. Hope it'll last longer than The Kid.
And I have a runny nose now. Mucus is literally dripping out of my nostril. Gross...

Down with a sorethroat now. Seems like there is a flu bug in the air these days. I must have gotten the sorethroat from Oli. Oh yeah, I went to check out camera prices at SimLim... 610 for Ixus 430 and 530 for A80 at Alan Photo Trading. Argh!!! Temptations! Hmmm... I think I'll rather spend the money on something else, like, a PDA or a mp3 player. But I shall wait till I get my first paycheck before making too many plans.
I think I ought to do something with the painting that ZJ gave me last year. My parents said that it is nice and I should frame it or something, but being a guy, what the heck... not necessary. But the more I look at it, yeah, it is quite good actually. I think I better do something about it. At least laminate it.
And I just realized that the photo I need is COLOUR with white background. And great, I am out of colour ink. And there isn't any cellophane tape in this entire flat!
Ok, I'm bored. Long day ahead tomorrow. I shall tuck in early for the night.
Also, I can't stand the team with that woman and her mini-me in The Amazing Race. Gets on my nerves just by watching them. I wonder how the other teams tolerate them...
1. Go to the traffic police place and get my driving license.
2. Go for my medical checkup
3. Get my employment pass
Ended up only doing point (2) but I did manage to squeeze in a visit to Sim Lim Square to buy ink for my printer. So, my excuses are: for point (1), I didn't know I needed a black and white passport size photo with white background until I was halfway there when KJ told me. It wasn't on the BTT result slip. But since I was already near there, took a slight detour to Bugis to get my ink. So, not really an entirely wasted trip. Then as for my employment pass, the medical report will only be done tomorrow. So, not much I could do about that.
Apparently something happened near AMK and Toa Payoh MRT line. Couldn't go through the north. But not that I was going to anyway. Somehow, the disruption caused the time between trains to be very long. Waited at Orchard MRT to go to Raffles Place for 10 minutes, the longest I have ever waited for a train.
Anyway, on my way back, there was a bunch of CHIJ girls making a hell of a noise. Kids these days. And one of them looked exactly like Michael Moore. Not only because of the face, but also because of the size. Just cut the hair, add in a cap and some facial hair, and hey... it's the dude.
Tomorrow will be another day of errands. Sigh.

The bag shop at Queensway is having a storewide sale of 50%, except for deuter and another brand that I forgot that are at 40%. So, I got an air pillow, a water container and a clip (forgot the name, starts with a c-" for 8 bucks. Will be getting other stuff from Weilin in future. Got three pairs of socks too. Don't think I will be seeing them after OBS. Will probably be dead.
Think I'll sleep early tonight. Before 12! WOOHOO! And I skipped running today. Too lazy.

Apart from getting my results, decided to pay RH a visit while collecting my letters. Whole place was a mess and in utter chaos with orientation going on. I must say that attendance isn't too bad. But then, I might be speaking too soon... it's only day 3. Nonetheless, nothing beats MY year. Orientation 00/01 is the best! Freshmen these days are weak. Gone are the days of "real" orientations. While it used to be "Freshmen, who gave you a toilet break? SIT!" or "Freshmen, give me twenty push-ups", it's now "Freshmen, need to pee? Okay, 5 minutes. No? 10 minutes then" and "Freshmen, do you need more rest? Okay, 20 minute break!". Weak...

Went for a run today after being scared by WeiLin that I will have to endure 9km runs at obs. So, this time I decided to run two rounds, and time myself. So fine. I ran one round and saw that I took 10:53 minutes. Hmmm... not bad for 2.8km. Then I finished both rounds in 20 minutes on the dot. While panting my way up to my unit, I started thinking "Hey, I ran 2.8km in 10:53? I could barely make 2.4 in 10:53. Am I good or what? Or is there something wrong...."
So, I decided to take a look at streetdirectory.com to see how long is the distance. Then to my utter horror, I realized that the distance is different! The last time I checked, I read the scale wrongly. So, actually, I ran 1.7km the first round in 10:53. OMG!!!! I suck!!!! At reading maps and running! No more girls-can't-read-maps jokes from me anymore. So, I did 3.4km in 20 minutes. Geez, I suck.
Time to buck up!

Met up with WeiLin, HJ, YC and DanLee just now, and visited HJ's place. It is just behind Paragon, but the place looks a bit out of place. It is a rundown private apartment located amidst high-rise modern buildings just behind Paragon. But once you get into his place, it isn't that bad anymore. Nicely decorated. Met XiangJiunn also, which he finally said "hey, you look very familiar". They had a PS2 and we spent a while playing LOTR. After that, watched 2 episodes of SATC. It is actually quite good. I expected crap.
Went off with WeiLin around 1030PM and took the MRT from somerset. When we reached CityHall, we switched tracks to go west. But somehow, don't ask me how, we ended up going back North, and by the time we realized it, we were at bishan. Feeling quite stupid about it. Anyway, we managed to discuss about what I will be needing for OBS. And here's the list so far:
1. LOTS of powder
2. LOTS of baby swipes
3. water container
4. torch light
5. LOTS of socks
6. LOTS of underwear
That's the list so far, but I am sure I will be needing a lot more.

Decided to buy a book today at Popular, since I finished reading Dude Where's My Country. Also, Popular was having some book discounts, so might as well cash in on the chance. After some time thinking, I bought The Kid by Kevin Lewis. Looks pretty good. My other options were Hillary Clinton's autobiography (not too interested in her), Bill Clinton's autobiography (59 dollars to know where his cigar went) and The Da Vinci Code (sil, I'm gonna look for you soon, heh).
And for some reason, the internet is crawling! Maybe one of my flatmates is hogging the bandwidth downloading... stuff. Hmmm...

God dammit! Woodlands won!

I'm home alone again..
Perhaps I should have bought a model yesterday. Sigh.
Or maybe I should start a new hobby. I wonder how's my stamp collection back home. I just took a look at it a few months ago when I went back. They are still in good condition. How on earth did I get stamps from Argentina, South Africa, India... At least I am starting to run again. Long is suddenly quite enthusiastic about it. After the run last night, we had another one this evening. He did not last the whole route this time though. But still, not bad for him.
Playing Need For Speed: Underground again. However, this time, all races at Hard mode. If you can win the six lap or seven lap endurance races, congratulations: you have passed anger management. I just can't describe how frustrating it is to lead all the way just to crash at the last chicane, and see your challenger overtake you...
Was told that I will get my offer letter by the end of this week. Then I will go back next week to get the letters signed by my parents. Maybe it's a good idea. Change of environment should help kill my boredom. The car is a plus of course. But, won't be blogging much then also, especially with the 56 kbps modem after being spoilt silly with cable modem and NUSNET.
Any ideas for tomorrow?

Dinner at Fish and Co was quite good. My swordfish collar, whatever that is, was HUGE. Tasted a bit like KFC fried chicken if not for the sauce that they gave. Stuffed myself silly with the huge portions. Didn't have much chance to talk to Yew Nam, Szelee, Jyesheng and the rest at the other end of the table. Took a few photos, while GuoLoong took some voyeur photos of girls sitting around our table. Haha. Not that she was THAT great looking anyway.

Yippee!!!!!
Blogger has a new template again!
Anyway just got back from the commencement party at the NUS Guild House. The place is not bad, and there were people from NUSS promoting the guild house to us, asking us if we wanted to join for 200 dollars a month. Hmmm, I might consider after two years. After some photo taking, we stormed the buffet dinner! Had quite a lot of the sushi with LOTS of wassabi. Yum. Lots of beer flowing with the free flow. I think I had 3 glasses. And Tiger Beer was quite gross.
The deejay was quite pathetic, his first song was a cantonese song which sucked! But after that, slowly got a bit better. There were some dancers trying to get the crowd into the mood, but we were a bit shy. Haha. The VC, or better known as president these days, was also there. Even he hit the dancefloor! Not bad for an old man. Had a photo taken with him too. Also, the guest DJ was Rod Montero. Saw him coming in looking for a place to park his Vitara earlier on. Then during the dance session, the gang and I asked him to take photos with him, which he agreed. He is quite huge. So, not a bad night. Managed to take photo with the Man of NUS and a radio DJ.

Then just now, when going out, I found my slippers missing. And it was not at their place too! They must have taken it in! Thieves! Scoundrels!
First the woman downstairs, now this. I have neighbours from hell!
Bought a shirt from TopMan, my first ever shirt from there. I saw the price tag and it said 26 bucks. But when I paid for it, the cashier said it was 39 bucks. Then I said, how can that be? So she went over to the rack, and sure enough some of the shirts had 39 dollars tags and some had 26 dollars tags. Sheesh. I've been conned. This is a misrepresentation! Not really, because I still bought it even though I knew it was 39 dollars. Heh. I need a shirt.
And I am again reminded what a lousy shopper I am. I'm now sitting in front of my computer with a mofo of a backache. Lower back actually. It's killing me. And the fact I had to stand all the way back to CCK in the bus didn't really help either.
Time to get some rest. Reminder: tomorrow is your "last party in NUS". And yeah in case some of you guys don't know, you guys actually have to register online at their Commencement Website.

And I am getting quite irritated with the cold showers I have to endure. Especially these days when it is always raining. Water will be freezing. Morning showers really wake me up.
Who are going for the freeflow on Friday?
Going:
-----
Me
Oliver
Ris
Long
Jenny
Joo
EeHong
KM
Dazehead
Anybody else?
Okay, don't have to go back this week, since the club can't decide whether or not I should go for the membership interview now, or after my 2 years of training. A bit too much to elaborate on that here, and I'm not sure if I am allowed to also. So, better play it safe and anyone wanna know, just tell me.
Since I'm not going back this week, it's free flow on Friday for me baby! Yeah! I wonder how much I will last. Not that much I think. But still!
Going to rain today... again.

Went back to KL on Monday after the phone call. And been bumming since...
Okay, not that bad. Went out with Peter and KenLin on Wednesday night. Pete just came back from UK on that afternoon, so had some yummy prata that night while doing some catching up. Seems like he has another 2 years of housemanship before probably going into surgery as his postgraduate programme.
Came back down to Singapore on Friday. Brought family over to Yew Tee on that night itself. Hmm, Saturday was shopping day and they spent 400 dollars in 4 hours. 400 Singapore dollars of course. That night had dinner with MuiLing and family at the same ol' Cantonese restaurant at Tiong Bahru, which is very close to where we stayed, which was at Holt Road. It was a Msian Govt Building, just opposite some multi million dollar condominiums, the ones that you can just hope staying. The units there are probably owned by companies who house their expats in there.
Commencement on Sunday, took a cab at 8AM since my parents didn't have to be there so early. And reached UCC at 815AM, which was freaking early. At most 10 graduates were there at that time, but by 830AM, the place was crawling with people. The whole ceremony wasn't much. Went up to collect the scroll from the pro-chancellor (who the hell is he?), wait for other people to collect their scrolls, and listened to the valedictorian. Oops, I meant, wait for other people to collect their scrolls, THEN only I collected mine. The better ones before me of course. Didn't know the valedictorian was that great also. Thought it would be Dean-Randall or Eu Jin that would be the valedictorian instead.
And now I'm back at Yew Tee. Parents on their way back to KL. I could be back to KL on Tuesday also for reasons that I am too lazy to type out. That's it for now. Nothing much to type for one week.

3 hour blackout in Singapore
THREE hour blackout in Singapore? OMIGOD! It's a catastrophe! It's a calamity!! We are all going to die. Geez... take a trip across to Malaysia man. Two weeks back home last week and I had water cuts three times already.
